Video/Action - New Bark Town
*The post begins with a video that is very obviously being handled by someone who has absolutely no idea whatsoever how to work the device. The image is blurred, then a face starts to come into focus. It's at an angle and a bit shaky, but it's possible to make out an eye and black hair that seems to shadow one side of the face. Then it shifts a little more, zooming out a bit as the 'gear tries to auto-focus, and the face can be made out more clearly- a middle-aged, rough-looking man, with shaggy black hair, and a large eyepatch covering his right eye. He continues to stare at the screen for a bit with a slight frown, blinking as he considers it. The image jumps a bit more as he turns the 'gear at an angle, giving a brief glimpse at the heavy leather armor he's wearing like some sort of medieval mercenary, before coming back to focus (mostly) on his face again. Finally, after another moment of consideration, he speaks*
Where can I buy a sword?
*There's a glimpse of a hand wearing a leather glove fumbling with the 'gear again before he manages to switch it off.*
*Meanwhile, for those who happen to be in or near the vicinity of New Bark Town, they might happen to run across a rather rough-looking fellow in an eyepatch and leather armor wandering about and familiarizing himself with his surroundings, an electrike tagging along at his heels*

Re: [Video]
Carrying a weapon is illegal, but making animals attack and fight isn't?
*talk about barbaric....*
[Video]
That's generally how it goes, yes. Having them attack other people is also illegal; every battle here is supposed to be settled between teams of Pokemon, though it doesn't always work that way.
[Barbaric is the easiest way to put it. Stupid also works.]
Re: [Video]
or would care if he did*So it's no better than having weapons to begin with.
Only if your weapon can think and act on its own. They're very self-aware and most aren't afraid to prove it to you.
[Translation: Watch out. They bite hard if you push 'em too far.]
Re: [Video]
...and?
*read: he's a mercenary, not an idiot- just because he sees the potential for misuse doesn't mean HE has any such intention*
[Video]
And it couldn't hurt to remember that. They're as different as you or I, so it's best if you're prepared for anything in this place.
[He may not have any such intention, true, but every pokemon is different. Who knows how they'll read his actions. Forewarned is forearmed or some such proverb.]
